BIOGRAPHY

I live in Exeter and spend my time sculpting, designing and teaching. My work is inspired by the coast where I grew up. The coast is a place where human development meets the sea and empires are reclaimed by nature.
My early works were a collection of flying machines inspired by flight before flying. A time when people risked their lives trying to fly despite not knowing if it was even possible. Later works were based on classical figurative sculpture as humans sought to understand their own physical anatomy in order to extend their mortality.
My current collection of stone sculpture titled "Artefacts from the Anthropocene" are focussed on climate change and the lessons we could learn from the collapse of ancient civilisations.
